 End of Twilight
01.04.2004  Solution for End of Twilight

End of Twilight is a 3d tactical game with elements of prg.

So, player should control heroes of the game.

The are three main heroes with different types of weapon and attacks in the game. In the full version you’ll have a possibility to control up to 4 units.

Heroes’ attacks types differ by weapon, distance, area of defeat, cost in pulls. The pulls is an index of possible attacks. So, more pulls – more possibilities.

Viking Eric has 2 kinds of weapon:
Sword is a weapon for near attacks. Its cost is one pull.
Shield is weapon for remote attack. This weapon is more powerful then sword but it costs 2 pulls.

Aks’s weapons are:
Axe for near attacks with cost of 1 pull.
Tomahawk for powerful remote attacks with cost of 2 pulls.

Bers’s weapons are:
Clubs for near attacks with cost of 1 pull.
Chains for powerful remote attacks with cost of 2 pulls.

Heroes change their weapons automatically. It depends on distance for target. If the distance to the target is more then one step, heroes use powerful remote weapon. As you remember, for that kind of weapon you need 2 pulls. If you haven’t necessary number of pulls (you can see it in the left lower corner of the screen), you can’t make an attack.
Attack with an attribute gains additional properties, which depend on the elements. The attacked target doesn’t simply get damage, but also gains a special status. Each status has both advantages and disadvantages. That’s why player should be careful with elements.
• Ground gives neutral status and neutral attribute.
• Water gives freezing status and attribute. Weapon with water attribute freeze the enemy on the turn. unit with freezing has a good protection 9he lose little number of pointes), but he has a reduced possibility for move.
• Fire gives blazing status and attribute. Fire attribute make an attack more powerful, unit with the fire status lose 5 pointes turn.
• Swamp gives poisoning status and attribute. In the area of swamp move, vision makes weaker. Units lose pointes of health and their attacks also make weaker.
If unit comes on/in an element, his weapon charges with attribute of this element at the end of turn. After leaving the area of element, the attribute wears off (also at the end of turn). If unit didn’t make an attack with the attribute and stayed on the area of element, on the next turn he’ll get the status of this element. Unit also gains the status of one element if he was attacked by attribute of this element.
You also should know, that in the different positions to the enemy you have different power of attack. Most powerful attack is from the back position. The weakest attack is from the front position.

Level 1
Lighthouse

Viking flies to the heavenly island with Lighthouse.
When he leaves his bird, player should bring him through the little bridge and then to the enclosure. Here he meets Bers, who asks Viking to defeat huge worm, whick lives in the enclosure for boars.
After talking with Viking Bers hides into the Lighthouse. Here he will be waiting for the end of the fight.
In this level Viking has only one kind of weapon – the sword.
For each turn he has one pull; so, he can make one attack on a short distance every turn.
First of all, don’t enter the enclosure along – on the next step the worm will get out from his hole and will catch Viking.
You should use one of the boars islands as a decoy.
Eric must find one of the boars on island. Viking should strike the boar, maling the animal very angry.
Then in 3-4 turns he should go in the enclosure. The boar will follow him.
In order to enter the enclosure, Viking has to direct mouse’s cursor on the gates of enclosure and to click left button.
Here the boar will lure the worm out of the hole. After the worm has caught the boar, Viking can easily defeat him in a two attacks after two turns.
After the winning over the worm Viking should make free the exit from the enclosure – bring the boar from the gates or kill the boar.
Then you can go into the Lighthouse.
Open the door of Lighthouse.
After short talking with Bers hero go to the next level.

Level 2
Watermill

Eric comes to the island with the river and watermill.
Soon after two big spiders attack him.

Firstly look through the area of island. You must see the watermill and compulsory the dry tree on another side of island.

Viking should to go in the watermill and meet Aks. Don’t forget strike the spiders on your way.

This hero can help Viking with the getting of his second weapon – shield, but before he asks to solve his own problem – to kill the spiders.

The spiders are born in the dry tree and they are afraid of water. That’s why it will be much easier for Viking to defeat spiders using the water attribute. Only one attack with water attribute defeats one spider.
But you must be careful, because if Viking can’t apply his attack charged by the element, he will get the water freezing status and will be an easy target for the aggressive spiders.  Hero with water status have reduced move. Viking can destroy all the spiders only after he’ll attack the dry tree with water attribute and tree will come to life again.

The objective of the mission is to attack dry tree with water attribute.
So, after Viking’s talking with Aks he should go to another side of island to the dry tree.

Eric must go along the river-bed, but don’t forget to attack spiders with water attribute every turn – you must avoid freezing status. You should try to kill one spider on each turn.

Near the dry you can find a little lake. Here you can plan fine maneuver.

After killing the next spider go to the back side of the lake (on two steps), where other spiders can’t touch you.

Then on the each new turn you should kill one spider using water attribute and hide in the lake in the end of turn.

When all spiders all be killed, go to the bank of the lake and wait for way to the dry tree.

If new spider appear, just kill it and wait for one more step to get the water attribute.

Then Viking must go to the tree and attack it with water attribute. If he can’t go to the dry tree, he should keep up waiting on the ground or in the lake.

If new spider doesn’t appear, but the Viking can’t go to the tree, he should go out from the lake (top shun the freezing status).

In this case on the new turn he must come back into the lake to get the water attribute.

On the next turn he can go to the tree and attack it with the water attribute.

It will be a real victory. If some other spiders stay alive, Viking should kill them too.

After successful battle Viking should return to Aks.

Level 3
Lake

This level is not a part of the game, it was developed specially for demonstration.
Here you can control three heroes.
Each of them has two kinds of weapon and two pulls. It means, that the hero can miss the attack and get at the next step a possibility for two attacks on the short distance or one strong attack. The objective of this mission is to lead all heroes to Idol’s island.

Below you can see one of the methods of solution for this level.

First turn:

Aks should make two forward steps.
Eric should stand to the right from Aks, looking to the Idol.
Bers must stay behind Aks.
Don’t make any attacks on the first turn – they will be necessary on the next one.

Second turn:

Skinny go out from the camp fire and Aks should attack Skinny from his place.
He must use remote attack (he has two pulls for it). Then Aks should go to the Idol island as far as it is possible.
Bers must come to Skinny and make two one-pull attacks with clubs.

If Skinny is dead.
Bers has tp stand on Skinny’s place (one step to the Idol island).
Then Eric should attack Fat. Who stays in the left top part of the screen, using two-pulls weapon.
Then he must go to the Idol island.

Now freezing enemies can’t catch up with the heroes. Aks, Eric and Bers can quickly move to the Idol Island.
So, in one – two turn you become a winner.

If Skinny stays alive.
After Aks’s and Bers’s attacks, Eric must stand at the side of Scinny and make one attack to kill Skinny.
Then Bers must stand on the Skinny’s place.

Third turn:

In order to shun freezing status Aks must go out from the water on the Idol island. But let him stay on the bank – you will need him later.

Fat freeze Bers, that’s why Bers can only make a step to the Idol Island.
Eric should occupy Bers’s place and attack lower Fat with two-pulls weapon shields. This weapon also will strike another Fat.

Forth turn:

Aks should attack Fat (he stays on the left from Eric) with two-pulls weapon.
Bers must make one step to the left and kill the lower Fat.
Eric must attack Fat from the lower position and make the step to the Idol island.

Firth turn:

Now you can move your heroes to the Idol and kill the enemies, who catch up them. You also can just kill all the enemies. Then heroes will run to the island.
