15.04.2002 New changes in the intellectual propertry legislation Yesterday a new federal law "About introduction of changes in article 146 of Criminal Code of Russian Federation" was accepted by deputies of the Parlament. The new law toughens responsibility for the intelectual property rights violation. The main innovation offered by the authors of the draft is evaluation of damage (drawn to the intellectual property rights holders) "in big quantities" and "very big quantities". Punishment for such violation varies from monetary penalties to deprivation of liberty.
